Herpes Outbreak
Genital Herpes is an aftermath of the transmission of HSV or herpes simplex. There are predominantly two types of viruses that infect the human body. These are HSV1 and HSV2. When the virus enters inside our body it manifests in the latent state initially. It settles down in the nerve root cells of out body where it does not cause any damage. As a result in the latent state, infected person does not experience the formation any sores or blisters on the body. After certain period the virus gets activated. It then travels through the nerve paths to reach the surface of the skin and cause the first break out of the symptoms. The initial few emergences of the symptoms is called genital herpes outbreak.
The primary outbreak
The very first outbreak of genital herpes is the first sign of the infested HSV virus in your body. The duration of the primary outbreak is the longest of all the following outbreaks. The patient may experience symptoms like headache, fever, muscle aches as one of the initial herpes outbreaks. You may however recuperate from the flu like symptoms within a week. Then, the infected person may experience tingling, itching or redness on the spot where the genital herpes outbreak is about to occur. Painful as well as itchy blisters on the penis, inner walls of vagina and on the vulva are some of the common signs of the outbreak. Blisters may also emerge on exposed areas like buttocks, thighs, scrotum or anus. They may appear as a sole large sized ulcer or may appear in form of a cluster. If the blisters are not attended with a timely medical care, then, they may worsen into painful sores. Lymph nodes in the groin area may get swollen. Sometimes, both males and females may experience pain at the time of urination. Women may experience abnormal urethral discharge or vaginal discharge.
A few more possibilities related to herpes outbreak
It is also a possibility that the infected person experiences the first herpes outbreak months after being infected. At this point it becomes difficult to detect which of the either partner is carrying the infection. In a few adverse cases, the genital herpes outbreaks relapse. The recurrence of the outbreak becomes extremely painful for the person to bear. The second and following outbreaks are accompanied by the painful ulcers that rapture. Later on they become painful sores. Within a span of 6-12 days they start healing. The pain starts alleviating and they become relatively smaller in size. They finally burst and disappear from the body surface. These blisters occurring during the second outbreak are followed by swollen genital glands and sores. The recurrent outbreaks are less in severity in comparison to the primary outbreak. They also last for a less period of time. The symptoms of the primary as well as following outbreaks are most severe in women than in men. Therefore, it is always recommended to keep your genital areas absolutely clean to avoid contraction of viruses and bacteria in your body.
